Sealing Technology for Hydrostatic Bearings

Hydrostatic bearings place the piston rod at the center of the hydraulic cylinder block, and the circulating surface oil film fills between the piston rod and the cylinder wall, separating them from each other without direct contact. Unlike other sliding bearings (also known as "dynamic bearings") where oil film can only be generated under specific conditions on the sliding surface, hydrostatic bearings can also establish a load-bearing oil film in a completely static state (by pre activating the hydrostatic bearing system), thereby avoiding friction losses and surface wear. The small amount of lubricating oil required to generate and maintain the oil film of the "hydrostatic bearing" is provided by the oil supply system of the hydraulic cylinder. The piston rod is supported by a high-pressure oil film and can withstand higher lateral forces, ensuring the high dynamic performance and long service life of the servo actuator cylinder. This non viscous phenomenon ensures highly sensitive axial force control of the specimen and high-precision displacement control of the linear motion required for the experiment under high dynamic conditions.
This series of products is a bidirectional synchronous oil cylinder, which means that the workrooms at both ends and the two ends of the piston rod are of equal area. The piston rod undergoes linear reciprocating motion without friction in the oil film of the hydrostatic bearing. Coaxial mounted displacement sensors (LVDT) accurately measure the movement of the piston rod and provide high-precision displacement control.
