During the sintering process, ceramic bricks may produce pores due to factors such as process and raw materials. So, it will generate a certain degree of water absorption. The soluble salts in alkali are converted to the surface of the brick in the form of water, resulting in white frost. To prevent frost formation on the surface of sintered bricks, it is recommended to pay attention to the following aspects during the construction process.

1. The cement used in construction should be genuine Portland cement, and non genuine slag cement should not be used. It is reported that if genuine Portland cement is used, the vast majority of brick surfaces will not produce white frost. If slag cement is used, the white frost on the surface of the bricks will be even more severe.

2. The water used in construction should be river water and seawater. If seawater is used during construction, the salt in the seawater can also cause frost on the brick surface. The sand used in construction should be river sand to prevent sea sand.

3. Before firing bricks, the mat should be laid as early as possible. Its advantage is that before paving, the alkali in the cement cushion will come out early, so that there will be no large amount of alkali on the surface of the sintered bricks after paving.
