2、 Measurement principle:

High frequency microwave pulses are transmitted and received through an antenna system, and radar waves operate at the speed of light. Even in complex working conditions where there are false echoes, micro processing technology and debugging software can accurately identify the echoes of material levels.

Input

The antenna receives the reflected microwave pulse and transmits it to the electronic circuit. The microprocessor processes this signal to identify the echo generated by the micro pulse on the material surface. The correct recognition of echo signals is completed by intelligent software, with an accuracy of up to millimeter level. The distance D from the material surface is proportional to the time travel T of the pulse:

D=C × T/2

Where C is the speed of light

Since the distance E of the empty tank is known, the material level L is:

L=E-D

Output

By inputting the empty tank height E (=zero point), full tank height F (=full range), and some application parameters, the application parameters will automatically adapt the instrument to the measurement environment. Corresponds to 4-20mA output.

6、 Installation instructions:

The following installation instructions apply to rod and cable probes, and the measurement of tube probes is independent of the installation method.

1. Installation location:

a. The recommended distance from the tank wall is 1/6-1/4 of the tank diameter (at least 300mm, concrete tank at least 400mm);

b. Do not install in the middle of the metal can;

c. Do not install it at the discharge port;

d. When selecting the length of the probe, pay attention to the distance between the bottom of the probe and the tank bottom being about 30mm; Pay attention to the medium temperature.

2. Obstacles inside the tank:

Pay attention to the probe being at least 200mm away from obstacles during installation.

3. Elimination of interference:

a. Interference echo suppression: Software can suppress interference echoes to achieve ideal measurement results;

b. Bypass tube and waveguide tube (only applicable to liquids) can be used to avoid interference when the viscosity is not less than 500cst.

4. Liquid standard installation:

For media with viscosity ≤ 500cst and less prone to adhesion, tubular probes are the ideal solution, with the following characteristics:

a. Reliability;

b. It can be used for any medium with a dielectric constant greater than or equal to 1.4, and the measurement is independent of the conductivity of the medium;

c. The size of obstacles and short pipes inside the tank does not affect the measurement;

d. The lateral pressure that the rod probe can withstand is higher;

e. For high viscosity media, it is recommended to use a rod probe.

5. Installation on horizontal and vertical tanks:

a. The length of tube and rod probes can reach up to 6 meters. For tanks with measuring distances exceeding 6 meters, 8mm cable probes can be used;

b. The installation and fixation method is the same as the measurement of solid powder silo;

c. There is no limit on the distance from the tank wall, as long as the probe is not in contact with the tank wall;

d. If there are many obstacles or too close to the probe inside the tank, please use a tubular probe.

6. Measurement of corrosive media:

If measuring corrosive media, a rod probe can be used to cover a plastic sleeve for measurement.

7、 Measurement requirements:

1. The measurement range is calculated from the point where the beam touches the tank low, but in special cases, if the tank low is concave or conical, measurement cannot be carried out when the material level is below this point.

2. If the medium has a low dielectric constant and is visible at a low liquid level, it is recommended to set the zero point at a low height of C to ensure measurement accuracy.

3. It is theoretically possible to measure the position of the antenna *, but considering the effects of corrosion and adhesion, the final value of the measurement range should be at least 100mm away from the antenna *.

4. For overflow protection, a safe distance can be defined and attached to the blind zone.

5. The small measurement range is related to the antenna.

6. With different concentrations, foam can both absorb microwave and reflect it, but it can be measured under certain conditions.

7. When the measurement range is exceeded, the instrument outputs a 22mA current.

8、 There are three ways to debug:

1. Adjust the module PM through display;

2. By debugging software SOFT;

3. Through a HART handheld programmer.

9、 Debugging through SOFT software:

Regardless of the signal output, 4-20mA/HART and radar sensors can be debugged through software. Using SOFT software for instrument debugging requires a CONNECTCAT driver for the instrument.

When using software debugging, add 24VDC to the radar instrument and a 250 ohm resistor at the front end of the connected HART adapter. If the power supply instrument is equipped with an integrated HART resistor (internal resistance of 250 ohms), there is no need for additional external resistors. The HART adapter can be connected in parallel with 4... 20mA wires.

10、 Key selection points:

1. Accuracy requirements are divided into two levels: trade level and process level.

a. The accuracy of trade grade measuring instruments is ± 1mm, which is used for trade settlement.

b. The process level accuracy is between ± 3mm and ± 15mm, and this type of instrument mainly serves as a full range monitoring of the liquid level, which means preventing the occurrence of overflow and empty tank phenomena.

2. Signal requirements

This requirement depends on the central control acquisition system. Check whether you want a digital signal or an analog signal and the transmission method.

3. Power supply requirements

24VDC, 12VDC, 5VDC, 220VAC, etc. Let's see if it's a two wire system or a four wire system. The choice of power supply depends on the configuration of your on-site circuit and the requirements of the central control acquisition system.

4. Installation requirements

5. Temperature and pressure

Check the temperature of the medium inside the tank and the ambient temperature. When selecting a radar, it usually depends on the ambient temperature. 6. Range

11、 Precautions:

1. When the instrument is used outdoors, it needs to install a Awning or a protection box to prevent the LCD screen from aging due to sunlight over a long period of time. If used in an environment with corrosive gases, it is necessary to install an anti-corrosion jacket and tighten the outer shell and inlet and outlet terminals of the instrument. For use in environments with corrosive gases or liquids, or in coastal or offshore environments, corrosion-resistant materials need to be selected.

2. Wire and cable protection pipes should be sealed to prevent water accumulation and to prevent being bitten by rodents and other rodents.

3. Although the instrument is equipped with lightning protection devices, it is recommended to install additional lightning protection devices at the inlet and outlet terminals of the instrument when the instrument is used in a thunder prone area.

4. When the instrument is used in particularly hot and cold places, where the ambient temperature may exceed the operating requirements of the instrument, it is recommended to install anti high and low temperature devices around the liquid level instrument.

5. The radar should be perpendicular to the measured liquid level, and there should be no other obstacles within the conical range of the radar's electromagnetic wave emission.

6. If used at temperatures of<-20 ℃ or>+60 ℃, please consult our company's technical service department in advance.

7. In case of dust, steam, fog, foam and floating objects on the liquid surface, agitation and waves on the liquid, please refer to the technical service department of the company in advance and treat them differently.
