Strong hygroscopicity, able to absorb carbon dioxide and water when exposed to the air, converted into potassium bicarbonate, should be sealed and packaged. Hydrates include monohydrate, dihydrate, and trihydrate. Potassium carbonate aqueous solution is alkaline. Insoluble in ethanol and ether.
