Construction Technology of Polyurethane External Wall Insulation Board


Grassroots treatment: The walls should be cleaned, oil stains cleaned, and floating ash removed. Loose and weathered parts of the wall should be removed thoroughly. The flatness of the wall should be controlled below ± 3mm. If the deviation of the base layer is too large, mortar should be applied for leveling. Remove all attachments, oil stains, and defects such as external expansion of concrete beams from the exterior wall, and repair them to be qualified. The height of protrusions should be less than 6mm. The gap between masonry and beams and columns shall be treated with steel mesh, with a width of more than 200mm on both sides of the joint. The installation of doors and windows is completed and local filling is completed.


Hanging vertical and snapping control lines: Expand bolts under the top and bottom walls to serve as the hanging points for hanging iron wires on the large wall. Use a theodolite to mark and hang wires on high-rise buildings, and use a large wire pendant to hang thin steel wires on multi-layer buildings. Use a tightener to tighten steel vertical lines at the large internal and external corners of the wall. The distance between the steel vertical line and the wall is the total thickness of the insulation layer. After hanging the line, first use a 2m ruler to check the flatness of the wall on each layer, and use a 2m support line board to check the verticality of the wall. Construction can only be carried out when the flatness requirements are met.


Blocking door and window: After the bonding of polyurethane prefabricated components is completed, before spraying hard foam polyurethane, sufficient blocking work should be done. Doors and windows are generally covered by plastic cloth cut into cloth blocks with an area equivalent to that of the doors and windows. Plastic film should be used to wrap and protect irregular parts such as shelves, pipes, and ironwork that require protection.


Spray polyurethane moisture-proof primer: Use a spray gun or roller brush to evenly spray the polyurethane moisture-proof primer without any penetration. Spray twice with a 2-hour interval. In humid weather, extend the time interval appropriately and use the first dry surface as the standard.


Spray hard foam polyurethane insulation layer: Turn on the polyurethane spraying machine to evenly spray the hard foam polyurethane onto the wall. Multi layer spraying method: start spraying along the top corner of the wall, first spray 0.5mm of the bottom layer, and then spray several times with a thickness of 20mm for each layer, so that polyurethane foam can form multi-layer foam, so that the building insulation effect can be better, and at the same time, the strength of polyurethane foam can be higher, without cracking and falling off.


Spraying polyurethane interface mortar: After the polyurethane insulation layer is trimmed and fully matured for 24-48 hours, the polyurethane interface mortar construction process can be carried out. The polyurethane interface mortar can be evenly sprayed onto the surface of the hard foam polyurethane insulation layer using a spray bucket or roller brush. Uniform coverage should not have missed spraying or brushing. After spraying the polyurethane interface mortar for 12-24 hours, proceed to the next process of construction. Be careful not to spray polyurethane interface mortar on rainy days.


Hanging straight line: At a distance of about 100mm from the top of the floor and about 100mm from the bottom of the floor, and at a distance of about 100mm from the inner or outer corners of the large wall, a vertical direction gray cake is made according to the vertical control line as the reference gray cake. Then, according to the line between the two vertical direction reference gray cakes, a wall leveling layer thickness gray cake is made, and the distance between each gray cake is pasted at an interval of about 1.5m. Grey cakes can be made of adhesive powder polystyrene particle slurry, or waste polystyrene board can be cut into 50mm × 50mm small piece pasting. After the vertical direction of the ash cake is fixed, pull a horizontal control line between the two horizontal ash cakes. The specific method is to insert a small nail with a small line into the ash cake, straighten the small line, and make the small line slightly higher than the ash cake by 1mm. Paste several ash cakes or reinforcing bars horizontally between the two ash cakes at intervals of about 1.5m. After the completion of each layer of ash cake pasting construction, use a 5m small wire to check the consistency of the ash cake in the horizontal direction, use a 2m support wire board to check the verticality in the vertical direction, and measure the thickness of the ash cake. The thickness of the punching bars should be consistent with the thickness of the ash cake.


Leveling layer with adhesive powder and polystyrene particles: When applying adhesive powder and polystyrene particle insulation slurry, the flatness deviation should not be greater than ± 4mm, and the plastering thickness should be slightly higher than the thickness of the ash cake. The insulation slurry shall be plastered in a sequence from top to bottom and from left to right. After applying the entire wall surface, use a ruler to rub it back and forth on the wall surface to remove the height and fill in the lower part. Finally, press it again with an iron trowel to make the surface flat and uniform in thickness. Use a thin slurry to smooth out the concave areas of the insulation surface layer, and use a trowel to stand up and scrape out the protruding areas. After 30 minutes of applying the insulation surface layer, use a trowel to apply the wall surface, first horizontally and then vertically, and then use a line ruler to test and meet the acceptance standards. During the construction of insulation slurry, attention should be paid to cleaning the ground ash, and the ground ash should be mixed in a small amount and reused multiple times in a timely manner.


Laying of galvanized steel wire mesh: Apply adhesive powder polystyrene particle insulation layer (after 72 hours) and flatten the galvanized steel mesh. Use expansion nails and compression plates to press tightly. The compression force of each nail should be uniform, and the steel mesh should be connected. The local gap between the steel mesh and the insulation layer should not be too large. The joint of the steel mesh is securely tied with double stranded 22 # galvanized binding wire, with a spacing of 200-250mm. The steel mesh at the external corners should be tied with double stranded 22 # galvanized binding wires with a spacing of 100-150mm, and the edges of the external corners must be tightly pressed with expansion nails.


Anti crack plastering adhesive: Use a trowel to smooth the prepared anti crack plastering adhesive from the center of the steel wire mesh to the surrounding area. The steel wire mesh should be submerged in the adhesive to level the layer. After 3-7 days of construction completion and acceptance of the insulation layer construction quality, the anti crack layer construction can be carried out.
