1、 Overview
Drop type fuses and pull load drop type fuses are outdoor high-voltage protective appliances. It is installed on the high-voltage side of the distribution transformer or on the main line of the distribution line, used as short circuit and overload protection for transformers and lines, and for breaking and closing load currents. The drop type fuse consists of an insulation bracket and a fuse tube, with static contacts installed at both ends of the insulation bracket and dynamic contacts installed at both ends of the fuse tube. The fuse tube consists of an inner arc extinguishing tube and an outer phenolic paper tube or epoxy glass cloth tube. The load drop type fuse enhances the elastic auxiliary contact and arc extinguishing cover for opening and closing load current.
During normal operation of a drop type fuse, the fuse tube forms a closed position by tensioning the fuse. When a system malfunction occurs, the fuse quickly melts and forms an arc when the fault current occurs. The arc extinguishing tube is heated by the arc and decomposes into a large amount of gas, forming high pressure inside the embassy and blowing longitudinally along the pipeline. The arc is quickly stretched and extinguished. After the fuse melts, the lower moving contact loses tension and flips down, locking the mechanism and releasing the fuse tube, causing the fuse tube to fall, forming a clear disconnection position. When it is necessary to pull the load, use an insulating rod to open the moving contact. At this time, the active and static moving contacts are still in contact. Continue to use the insulating rod to pull the contact, and the auxiliary contacts are also separated. An arc is generated between the auxiliary contacts, which is elongated in the narrow gap of the arc extinguishing cover. At the same time, the arc extinguishing cover generates gas, which extinguishes the arc when the current exceeds zero.
2、 Purpose
Outdoor drop type fuses are suitable for 35kV and below voltage and frequency 50Hz power systems, as overload and short circuit protection for transmission lines and power transformers. They are only used for breaking and closing rated load current, and have a mechanical life of ≥ 2000 times.
3、 Usage conditions
1. Suitable for environments with an upper limit of 40 ℃ and a lower limit of -30 ℃.
2. Altitude not exceeding 1000m, wind speed not exceeding 35m/s
3. Fuses are not suitable for the following locations
3.1 Places with fuel or explosion hazards.
3.2 Places with severe vibration or impact.
3.3 Areas with abnormal electrochemical gas effects and severe air pollution and smoke.
4、 Structure Introduction
A fuse is composed of two main parts: a base and an arc extinguishing device. The lower end of the arc extinguishing tube is equipped with a spring bracket that may rotate, always keeping the fuse in a tense state to ensure the self locking of the arc extinguishing tube in the closing position. In case of overload or short circuit between the circuit and the transformer, the fuse melts and quickly withdraws from the arc extinguishing tube. The arc extinguishing tube is designed as a stepwise exhaust type to solve the contradiction of breaking large and small currents on the same fuse.
