Backflip Blade or Retreat Curve Turbine Impeller agitator
Backflip Blade or Retreat Curve Turbine Impeller agitator is used at relatively fast rotation speeds. It has at least three blades curved backwards in the direction of flow, and its main pumping direction is radial. The magnitude of the axial flow component depends on the diameter ratio and on the bottom clearance of the impeller.
The retreat curve impeller is generally used in conjunction with one or two finger-shaped baffles. It has only limited suitability for blending and improving heat transfer in liquids, which usually have a low viscosity. This seies impeller minimizes solids settling and prevents cavitation of the pump suction by swirling the tank contents and sweeping solids towards the outlet. It does not “suspend” solids. However, this wave action constantly sweeps the bottom of the dish allowing for solids to move downward towards the outlet. Its main purpose is to eliminate solids from the tank bottom.
Specifically designed for low level mixing in dished and shallow coned bottoms with a bottom outlet.
