Double decyl dimethyl ammonium bromide is a quaternary ammonium salt cationic surfactant, a light yellow transparent liquid with poor water solubility. It has bactericidal and disinfection effects, and its activity decreases in the presence of non ionic detergents. Can be used as a mold inhibitor. It can also be used as an asymmetric phase transfer catalyst, especially suitable for trichloro catalyzed oxidation reactions.
