Typical grades of cobalt based high-temperature alloys include Hayness188, Haynes25 (L-605), Alloy S-816, UMCo-50, MP-159, FSX-414, X-40, Stellite6B, etc. Corresponding grades in China include GH5188 (GH188), GH159, GH605, K640, DZ40M, etc. China has conducted in-depth research on cobalt based high-temperature alloys (typical research and promotion units in China include the Steel Research Institute and Beijing Rongpin Technology Co., Ltd.). Unlike other high-temperature alloys, cobalt based high-temperature alloys are not reinforced by ordered precipitates firmly bonded to the matrix, but are composed of austenite FCC matrix that has been solid solution strengthened and a small amount of carbides distributed in the matrix. Casting cobalt based high-temperature alloys largely relies on carbide strengthening. Pure cobalt crystals have a closely packed hexagonal (hcp) crystal structure below 417 ℃ and transform into fcc at higher temperatures. In order to avoid this transformation during use of cobalt based high-temperature alloys, in fact, all cobalt based high-temperature alloys are alloyed with nickel to stabilize the structure within the range of room temperature to melting point temperature. Cobalt based high-temperature alloys exhibit a flat fracture stress-strain temperature relationship, but exhibit superior thermal corrosion resistance above 1000 ℃ compared to other high temperatures.
