Installation and Transformation Plan for Dust Removal of Vertical Unit Generators

1、 Carbon brush single sealing scheme:
In order to achieve better dust collection effect of the generator carbon brush dust collector and prevent small carbon powder from sticking inside the generator set, which endangers the normal operation of the generator set. According to the carbon brush holder of the original generator, use fiberglass as the frame sealing cover. The carbon brushes are individually inserted into the sealing cover, and the rest are sealed. The suction ports on both sides are connected to the CFS generator carbon brush dust collector.

After the sealing cover is installed, let the airflow enter the slip ring from the upper and lower gaps, causing the carbon powder to rotate with the airflow and be sucked in by the carbon brush dust collectors at both ends for treatment. The advantages of this solution are that carbon brushes can be replaced online, with a compact structure, good sealing performance, and good dust removal effect.
 

2、 Sealing scheme of carbon brush holder Slip ring:
The advantages of this solution are good sealing, no carbon powder will escape, compact structure, good dust suction effect, and good cooling effect of carbon brushes. The dust removal device plan, as shown in the figure below, mainly consists of 5 parts: 1. CFS carbon brush dust collector, quantity: 2 sets; 2: Sealing observation cover, quantity: 1 set; 3: Purging fan, quantity: 2 sets; 4: Vacuum cleaner, quantity: 2; 5: Blow air duct, quantity: 2;
 

The carbon brush dust removal device is equipped with two 0.9KW blowing fans, with a wind pressure of 4650-5100Pa and a flow rate of 300 m/h. The high-pressure airflow blows up the carbon powder ground from the graphite carbon brush in the sealed observation cover and circulates in a clockwise direction consistent with the rotation direction of the generator main shaft, and is sucked in by two CFS carbon brush dust removal devices below both sides.

 

The independent blowing fan not only generates high air pressure, but also can cool the graphite carbon brush and generate heat due to friction, ensuring that the temperature rise requirements of the carbon brush and slip ring are met.

 

2. Sealing observation cover:
The function of the sealed observation cover is to seal the graphite carbon brush inside, so that the ground graphite carbon powder is blown up by a blowing fan and circularly sucked into the CFS carbon brush dust collector, without being raised outside the sealed observation cover. At the same time, the observation cover must be sealed, and it must also be convenient to replace the graphite carbon brush and observe the internal situation. The material requirement is insulation. The specific structure of the sealed observation cover is as follows:

Function Introduction:                                                                                                                                                
The CFS-G generator carbon brush dust collector is mainly divided into two rooms, the fan room and the filtration control room, which are connected through air ducts.

The CFS-G generator carbon brush dust collector provides secondary filtration, which can effectively remove oily and non oily dust.

Secondary filtration:
1. Primary filtration can effectively filter fine dust.
2. The secondary cloth bag is a medium efficiency filter, which has a filtering effect on oil-free dust and also has a dust collection function.
The above two types of dust removal advantages complement each other,thenUltimately achieving efficient dust removal.

In order to match with the Slip ring cover of the on-site generator, the fan structure is designed, and the upper layer is the control panel. The control panel is equipped with a digital display meter to display the current temperature of the fan and the Internal environment temperature of the generator Slip ring cover, with power supply, operation and filter screen blockage alarm indicators. With start, stop, and local/remote control buttons. The socket on the left side is equipped with a power socket and a control interface, which can be remotely controlled to start and stop the dust collector. In addition, an independent electrical control box is designed to isolate the electrical circuit from the outside and inside, making it saferKe, shit.
The lower layer is a filter room, with a door panel in the front and two levels of filters inside. When the filter screen is blocked and an alarm is triggered, it can be replaced by opening the door panel and pulling out the filter screen for easy maintenance.

           


When the dust collector is running, air containing dust is sucked in from the air inlet of the fan. The dust air passes through primary filtration and secondary filtration, and is finally discharged outside the dust collector after dust removal.

                                                         

Maintenance of CFS-G generator carbon brush dust collector:
When the filter clogging alarm light comes on and the filter needs to be replaced, open the front door panel of the dust collector and remove the filter for replacement.
  
Sealing modification of generator Slip ring cover:
1. Dismantle the six observation windows of the original generator lower Slip ring cover, use 2mm thick steel plate and 5mm plexiglass plate to make observation windows to seal the lower Slip ring cover, and seal the bottom surface of the plexiglass window with adhesive tape.
2. The two steel mesh observation windows of the original generator upper Slip ring cover remain unchanged.

 

After the transformation, the air enters from the two steel mesh observation windows of the upper Slip ring cover, and the dust collector fan forms negative pressure, so that the air with dust enters the filter room of the dust collector along with the airflow for dust removal and then is discharged outside
 

  

3、 Design of suction port for dust removal device
There are two options for designing the suction port of the dust removal device:
Note: The following plan uses non-metallic insulation materials for accessories such as air ducts and fixed brackets.
Option A: Fan inlet with steel wire mesh open type
This plan is simple and does not affect the original host structure. The graphite dust raised by the air flow is sucked into the dust removal device for purification and discharge. The fan mouth must be equipped with a steel wire mesh to prevent foreign objects from being sucked in.
Advantages: simple structure, small occupation of the internal space of the Slip ring cover, and small impact on the maintenance of the main engine.
Disadvantages: some graphite powder will be stuck in the Slip ring cover, which will affect the dust collection.

Option B: Install a vacuum ring on the fan
In this plan, a circular vacuum ring is installed below the carbon brush ring. The vacuum ring corresponds to a vacuum groove located below the carbon brush, and the vacuum ring is connected to the fans on both sides through an air duct. When the carbon brush grinds out dust, it is sucked into the dust removal device by the negative pressure of the suction groove of the lower suction ring, and purified and discharged.
Advantages: The negative pressure of the vacuum groove of the vacuum ring is used to vacuum the carbon brush area, resulting in effective vacuum cleaning.
Disadvantages: It occupies a space inside the Slip ring cover, which may bring inconvenience to the maintenance of the host, and it is difficult to install and process.
