Armored thermocouples have many advantages such as flexibility, high pressure resistance, fast thermal response time, and durability. Like industrial assembled thermocouples, they are used as sensors for measuring temperature and are usually paired with display instruments, recording instruments, and electronic regulators. At the same time, they can also be used as temperature sensing components for assembled thermocouples. It can directly measure the temperature of liquid, steam, gas media, and solid surfaces in various production processes from 0 ℃ to 800 ℃, and should comply with the GB/T18404-2001 standard.

For products with armored thermocouples with a diameter of d ≤ ¥ 5mm and equipped with splash proof or waterproof junction boxes, the exposed part of the thermocouple must be supported by brackets or other auxiliary supports during installation to increase its stiffness and ensure fastening, preventing the junction box from swaying and damaging the thermocouple due to vibration.

operational principle

The working principle of armored thermocouples is that two different components of conductors are welded at both ends to form a circuit. The direct temperature measurement end is called the measurement end, and the wiring end is called the reference end. When there is a temperature difference between the measurement end and the reference end, thermal current will be generated in the circuit. When connected to a display instrument, the instrument will indicate the corresponding temperature value of the thermoelectric electromotive force generated by the thermocouple.

The thermoelectric electromotive force of armored thermocouples will increase as the temperature at the measurement end increases. The magnitude of the thermoelectric electromotive force is only related to the material of the armored thermocouple conductor and the temperature difference at both ends, and is not related to the length or diameter of the thermoelectric electrode.

The structure of armored thermocouples is made of conductors, insulating magnesium oxide, and 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel protective tubes that have been repeatedly drawn. Armored thermocouple products mainly consist of a basic structure consisting of a junction box, terminal blocks, and armored thermocouples, and are equipped with various installation and fixing devices.

Armored thermocouples are divided into two types: insulation type and shell type.
